Pre-Operational Safety
- Check self for loose clothing, hair and jewelry. REMOVE GLOVES.
- Wear safety glasses.
- Ensure emergency stop button is released.
- Clear the Lathe of extraneous objects and remove any excess dust or debris from operational parts.
- Make sure that Lathe parts are functioning as intended and that nothing is loose or damaged.
- Set up any jigs, fences and safety equipment before turning the drill on.

End of Operation and Clean-up
- Set the Master power switch to the OFF position.
- Remove any drill bit
- Remove dust from working surfaces. Clear debris around the drill area.
- If necessary, move drill to its home position
