Background

A few years ago Dmitriy purchased a bunch of these flexible coolant hoses for the space in order to create "Fancy 3rd Hand Tools" (as Dmitriy likes to call them) based on this Instructable. Time passed and we didn't end up doing anything with them. Since funds are available, designs for these Fancy 3rd Hand Tools improved, and the electronics workbench is becoming usable, Dmitriy believes it's a good time to revisit and complete the project. He would like to spend organization money to create two of these tools that would reside on the electronics bench and could be of help during soldering classes as well.

The project requires the purchase of 0.5" aluminum plate for the base, threaded alligator clips and corresponding screws for the hands. A 1/2"-20 tap and 29/64 drill bit are also needed to tape the holes for the hose: these may already be available in the space and would drive down the cost. Since there are 10 hose segments at our disposal, the plan is to yield 2 Fancy 3rd Hand Tools with 5 arms and a 4"x6" baseplate each. The total cost is estimated to be no more than $60 (+$10 for fudge room), or ~$20 less in case the tapping tools are already available.

Language

Spend no more than $70 to get parts and tools which would produce two Fancy 3rd Hand Tools
